Tap Into the Power of Earthing

Throughout most of our time on this beautiful, blue planet humanity evolved close to the ground. We were intimately connected to Month Earth. We slept in caves. We walked barefoot. We ate straight off the ground. However, all that started to change with the industrial revolution,  the invention of electricity, and the rapid development of technology. Today, we’re super connected, lit-up 27/7, always on, hustling and chasing the next trending thing, yet we’re more disconnected and unhappy than ever before.

The result of this trend can be troubling. According to the latest data, major depression is on the rise among Americans throughout all age groups, but rising fastest among teens and young adults. Suicide, for instance,  is the third leading cause of death in the state of Georgia for ages 10-24.

These tragic statistics show a troubling trend that needs to be looked at and from different perspectives. Medical and psychological attention is an absolute must, but there’s more that should be done. We must heal our emotional and spiritual body, along with healing our physical body. The simple act of earthing can offer a powerful method for healing the physical, spiritual, energetic and light body by raising vibrational frequencies.

Earthing, also known as grounding, is connecting to the Earth’s electrical field. Essentially, your body soaks up the negatively-charged electrons from the earth. Every cell in your body is made up of atoms. From science class, you know that cells have protons (positive charge) and electrons (negative charge). When healthy cells get damaged, they lose negative atoms and essentially become free radicals— which you don’t want many of those in your system. The more free radicals, the more disease, decay and breakdown that occurs. Earthing is a very powerful way to break that cycle and provide your body which is tarnished by EMFs, stress, noise, pollutants, unhealthy food particles and lack of proper quality sleep with a powerful boost from those negative electrons!

The physical connection between Mother Earth and your body (standing, laying down, walking):

  • promotes healing

  • decreases inflammation

  • naturalizes free radicals

  • improves sleep

  • increases immunity

  • provides a sense of peace and wellbeing in your spiritual and emotional body (a sense of being deeply connected to the Mother Earth)

To connect to Earth’s electrical field, you simply need to step on the ground  with your bare feet (preferably grass, beach or soil). You could also simply lay down on the beach in a bathing suit—which is also another from of earthing!

Earthing is an ancient practice that’s been largely forgotten. Thankfully to many people who are tuned into the shifting energy on our planet earthing is having a bit of a renaissance. You don’t need to go out to a State Park and plan a day-long trip to go earthing. Although if you have the time, please do it! Start with your local park. Take off your shoes and just step on the ground. Take 5 deep breaths. Be sure to put your phone on air plane mode and just be… Soak up the Mother Earth’s healing energy.
